A mid 19th century French porcelain mounted ormolu mantel clock, the demi-lune case with fruiting vine moulding and en grisaille, blue ground panels, the 3 inch Roman dial with gilt scroll hands, the two train spring barrel movement with Brocot type escapement and suspension, with outside countwheel strike on a bell, signed for the retailer Howell, James et Cie, height 34cm

Case: Dirty, gilding good, porcelain panels all good.

Dial: Lower third below winding squares with numerous cracks radiating from between V and VI. A small hairline evident from regulation arbour.

Movement: Functions reluctantly, especially on going train. Will require complete overhaul.
