A mid 19th century Anglo Indian ivory inset ebony and other exotic hardwood travelling casket, of serpentine rectangular form, the interior of the lid inlaid with the portrait of a bearded man within stylised roses, the main body housing two lift-out trays and a jack-in-a-box compartment.

Condition:
A little faded across the top and sides, main lid is starting to separate from its edges particularly on the left and right sides, original lock with working key fitted, jack-in-a-box section includes some tortoiseshell inlaid panels and houses four assorted drawers, spring mechanism for the jack-in-a-box a little irregular but it does rise and hold into place but when pushed back down is slightly uneven in fitting, one tray fitted with assorted exotic wood lidded compartments, the top tray with assorted ivory, hardwood and tortoiseshell lidded compartments.
