As well as being an avid collector of early Derby porcelain, Dr. Dennis G. Rice was an academic and wrote one of the key reference works on the subject - 'Derby Porcelain, The Golden Years 1750-1770' published in 1983. A number of the pieces illustrated in the book will be offered for sale.


The ram ex Stockspring Antiques, March 1990 for £600 and the ewe ex Mercury Antiques, May 1986 for £300.

The ram has good quality restoration to both of its horns and its front right leg, typical losses to flowers and leaves.
The ewe has small losses to its left ear and encrusted leaves and flowers.
