As well as being an avid collector of early Derby porcelain, Dr. Dennis G. Rice was an academic and wrote one of the key reference works on the subject - 'Derby Porcelain, The Golden Years 1750-1770' published in 1983. A number of the pieces illustrated in the book will be offered for sale.


Ewe ex Mary Wise, April 2004 for £500.

Both with typical small losses to the encrusted leaves and flowers.
There is restoration to the ewe's ears, a manufacturing chip to the rear edge of the base.
The ram has discoloured restoration to its ears and three areas of the back edge of the baseand losses to the tips of its horns.
