A late Victorian silver Monteith bowl, with mask and scroll border and engraved inscription, on gadrooned circular foot, maker FJ over GL?, London, 1892, 31.2cm, 43 oz.

Inscription reads "Presented to Surgeon Major James R Clerk Army Medical Staff by His Brother Officers at Aldershot on the occasion of his Marriage, 20th, April, 1893.". Would benefit from a good clean. Some light surface scratches commensurate with age, otherwise the overall condition is good. Hallmarks clear but with some slight rubbing.
