A late Victorian novelty silver and enamel inkwell, modelled as a sailor from HMS Duke of Wellington, the hinged body opening to reveal a single glass well, on ebonised plinth circular base, retailed by H.M. Emanuel & Son, Portsea, Horace Woodward & Co, London 1897, overall 17cm.

There is some damage to the enamel around the hat. Apart from a few minor nicks and scratches to the figure in general, the overall condition is good. There are a few tiny chips around the ebonised base. Hallmarks clear but with some minor rubbing.
