This is maple not ash.
The structure of the chest of drawers is a little wobbly, there is a very slight separation between the planks to the top, the drawers and side panels are veneered with birds eye maple, there is some chipping around the left edge of the upper right drawer, some slight shrinkage to the joints and there are a few old repairs to the drawer linings but all the drawers function well,otherwise in reasonable condition.
