A late George III Grand Tour Souvenir ebony work box width 29cm depth 21cm height 11cm

A late George III Grand Tour Souvenir ebony work box
applied with assorted hardstones including agates and jasper, of restrained sarcophagus form with partially fitted interior,
width 29cm depth 21cm height 11cm
£400-600

Condition:
In our opinion this casket is English made but using hardstones acquired on the Grand Tour, there is some light surface scuffing to the outside and one or two small flaws in the hardstones but overall it looks good, internally English lock to one side but no key, old velvet lining and fittings that once held inkwells or scent bottles, no labels or inscriptions.
