Lot 757 , A late 19th/early 20th century Turkish silver vase, 12 oz.

A late 19th/early 20th century Turkish silver vase, 12 oz.

A late 19th/early 20th century Turkish silver vase, with flared wavy rim, pierced foot and revolving band of flowers Tughra mark, 5.5in, 12 oz.
Estimate £200-300

It appears as though part of the vase was gilded at some point as there are remnants of gilding to the underside of the rim and around the foot, most of which has now worn away. There is a large gouge mark to the main body of the vase behind the revolving band and there are minor surface scratches to the main body caused by the revolving band. A piece of the foliate decoration is missing and there is a small piece of lead solder within the decoration indicating an old repair.
