A late 19th early 20th century Uzbekistan (possibly Samarkand) embroidered Suzani. Made from hand loomed linen, pieced together then hand embroidered with large decorative sun or moon motifs as a large table cover or hanging. Embroidered in mostly maroon, orange and brown using a Bokhara stitch, with a cotton lining added later. 237cm long x 137cm wide.
Condition - the linen has holes and damage in places and the embroidery.
