Lot 486 , A late 19th century bronze carriage clock, 6in.

A late 19th century bronze carriage clock, 6in.

A late 19th century bronze carriage clock, with unusual foliate scroll cast case, and enamelled dial set within an engine turned face, movement striking on gong, 6in.
Estimate £300-400

Case in good untouched condition, some evidence of verdigris on the uprights but no other faults noted, face in good condition, enamelled dial with a tiny bit of speckling but essentially good. Right side glass panel has chip in corner, movement looks in equally good untouched condition, a little oxidisation to the blue steel gong, escapement at the top looks like a later replacement, movement going but not tested for timekeeping.
