A late 19th century French engraved gilt brass gorge-cased repeating carriage clock with alarm, with scroll engraved case and enamelled Roman dial, unsigned movement number 5235, width 7.5cm depth 6.5cm height 11.5cm

Condition:
Honest untouched condition, case has a good rich colour to the gilding with just a little light rubbing at the extremities and a few small scattered oxidisation marks, some light black speckling to the dial which otherwise looks good, splinter chip to bevelled glass upper left front otherwise bevelled glazing all good, backplate instructions inscribed in English with just a number and no makers mark, movement runs but stops, repeat mechanism appears to be our repeating but is out of sync, comes with associated key. The handle is slightly bent. The hammer for the alarm strike has been resoldered. The movement and case stamped 5235.
