A late 17th century Imperial Chinese yellow (Minghaung) ground hand woven brocade of intricate interlocking lotus scrolls. This design rooted in Ming and early Qing dynasties. Strictly reserved for the Emperor or Empress for high Imperial use. Possibly for throne cushions, alter cloths or garment/robe linings, 66.5cm wide x 52cm high. Condition- elements of the designed brocade threads are showing wear. But remarkably the colours are still strong and unfaded.
