A large pair of Japanese cloisonne enamel square baluster vases, Meiji period, inlaid in silver wire or varying thickness with birds amid flowers on a turquoise ground, with borders of flowers and foliage on a black and green gilt flecked ground, 41cm

One vase has a horizontal hairline crack running approx 5cm mid way on one reserve across the corner and slightly to the other, with a slight shadow or additional hairline below this, please see photographs, it is actually not too obvious, on the same vase the foot is slightly loose and on the top rim of the vase there are some tiny enamel losses to the edge beneath it, both vases have feint hairline cracks on the inside of the neck, typical minor areas of pitting and manufacturing imperfections otherwise in pretty good condition.
