A large Chinese wucai ovoid jar, 19th century, painted with the figure of an old man holding a staff with a small herd of eight goats in a rockwork landscape, height 27.5cm, rosewood cover and stand, crack to base

There is a large crack extending across the base of the vase which is visible on the interior and exterior. On the interior this cracks extends up to each side but not visible on the exterior, there is also a fine hairline crack extending through the figure of the sage approx. half the height of the jar, general scratches and minor scuffs tot he glaze on the exterior. The wood cover is slightly mis-shapen but in general the wood cover and stand are in reasonable condition.
