A large Chinese hongmu and silver mounted tray and stand, c.1900-10, the tray inlaid with ships in a harbour, the corners of the border with prunus embossed mounts, with a pair of looped handles, the folding stand with cabriole legs joined by an X-shaped stretcher, 89cm wide

Condition:
The inscription plaque is a little worn but reads ‘presented to Mrs L.G.P. Foulds by the staff of the Taikoo Dockyard Engineering Co. of Hong Kong Ltd, November 1894’. The rectangular top has shrunk away from the edges slightly there is a small split to the left and the left hand applied silver handle is is wobbly and needs tightening in position. Some of the silver inlay has lifted slightly on the line border and the stand appears to be in reasonable condition.
