A large Chinese gilt-decorated and polychrome lacquer figure of a temple guardian, 19th century, the figure wearing a suit of armour with flowing robes, on a cloud shaped red lacquer base, H.75cm, losses

The figure is grubby and has losses to the composition on his flowing robes and to the arched robes on his arms. There is a vacant slot each side of his helmet and his left hand is loose. Cracks to his front and back and some occasional looses to the lacquer on his robes. The back of the base has a large open crack and some losses to the composition and lacquer.
