A large Chinese flambe meiping, 18th century, the ox blood glaze with purple and violet streaks, brown glaze to the base, 35cm high, rim ground off
Estimate £800-1,200

The neck must have been damaged at some stage and has been ground off, there is still a visible crack with some slight flaking around the area on the immediate top of the neck but this does not extend into the glaze inside or out. There is typical fine crazing to the glaze all over, occasional minor scratching and scuffs, otherwise in reasonable condition.
