A large Chinese famille verte octagonal dish, Kangxi period, painted with two courting birds in a garden with pine tree, flowers and a jardiniere, phoenix and peony border, W. 39cm

The dish has some slight wear to the gilding on the lobed edge, there is some very slight wear to the glaze and enamels in small areas of the interior of the dish such as the leaves bottom left, there are two tiny splinter chips to the back edge of the dish which are not visible from the front and a few minor typical glaze imperfections, otherwise in good condition with no restoration chips or cracks. When the dish is laid on its front it is not exactly flat there is a very slight warp to it.
