A large Chinese blue and white baluster vase, Kangxi period, painted with the scene of an emperor and other figures in an interior, the neck with a band of scrolls and ruyi heads, height 43.5cm, chip to rim ground off

The vase is a little wobbly on its base and there is a chip to the rim which has been ground off, the total area ground off measures 5.4cm x 0.7cm, please see photographs, there is some occasional iron spots and minor imperfections to the glaze, there is also some slight crazing to an area of the glaze on the shoulder, otherwise in good condition.
Provenance: The vendor's father was working out in the far east from the 1920's to the late 1930's and after the war in the 1950's and '60's was buying pieces from specialist dealers such John Sparkes Ltd. Although none of the pieces in the sale have a John Sparkes label to them some additional items which will be appearing in a future sale do bear the John Sparkes Ltd label.
