A large Chinese Transitional blue and white jar and cover, mid 17th century, finely painted with insects amid lotus, prunus and other floral sprays, the domed cover with blossom, on a raised foot, 29cm high, rim chip and crack

Condition:
Typical minor glaze imperfections. Cover has two splinter chips to the rim. Body has a chip to the upper rim (as photographed) with a crack emanating from it, approximately 10cm long. There is a small crescent shaped crack to the foot rim and a small chip to the same area, which most likely happened in the manufacture. Light surface scratches and abrasions throughout.
