A large Chinese Swatow blue and white ‘Shou Lao’ dish, Zhangzhou kilns, Wanli period, the centre painted with the Shou Lao riding a crane, holding a fan in his hand, amid clouds, with the figure of a deer in the background, the cavetto painted with chilong, and the broad rim with flowers and foliage, kiln grit to the underside, with a border of flowers,
Provenance- collected by the vendor’s grandfather while working and travelling in South East Asia in the 1930s - 1960s. 43.4cm diameter, tiny rim chip

Condition:
Typical minor glaze imperfections and some blurring to the underglaze blue. Heavy scratching to the glaze on the interior around the edges and some to the underside, typical kiln grit to the underside of the dish, otherwise in good condition with no restoration, chips or cracks detected.
