A large 19th century North European carved ivory vase and cover, probably German, the body relief carved with a continuous battle scene with figures and horses, and decorated all over with acanthus leaf and C scrolls, on an oval base, 15in.

The lid has a small chip to the rim, approx 1 inch long, screw thread attaching the pedestal base to the body is worn, overall has a generally bleached washed out look, there are some legs to the horsese that have been re-glued in places also probably missing a finial from the lid, overall average condition.
