A large 19th century 17th century style two handled silver porringer with caryatid handles and embossed with animals amid foliage, with engraved crest and latin inscription 'No Time Runs Against The King Neither Rashly nor Timidly', the base with prick dot initials and date 'RM over FJ 1686', maker's mark? Mk within a circle of dots, height 14cm, 17.5 oz.

Probable repair to the base of one of the handels. Decoration is showing signs of wear in general, as is the engraved inscriptions. Marks a little rubbed.
