A hand woven hand dyed Ikat Sumbanese Hinggi (shoulder cloth), together with an Indian chain stitch embroidered panel, the Hinggi woven on two short 56cm wide looms sewn together forming horizontal bands, depicting men on horseback, sea creatures etc., in terracotta, brown, blue and cream dyes, the Indian embroidery depicting elephants, camels and horses, etc. Hingis 112cm wide x 226cm long. Condition - Hinggi has some holes and is faded in places but is generally sound, the Indian panel is good.
