Provenance: the estate of the late Jean-Claude Lepileur (1926-2016)

The military rank badge of a tiger - there are missing threads to its tail and the two halves of the square are just loosely stitched together, there are many losses to the gilt metal thread on the border and it is slightly stained and discoloured, there is a Peking knot in there as well, there are a pair of rank badges which are stitched together but do not have any bird or animal on them but the eight Buddhist emblems in Peking knots and two squares are stitched together and there is some discolouration and staining all over and the odd unpicked thread and has a later lining to it, there is a section of kesi with a dragon on it which is very threadbare and with large holes and losses to it and is only a partial dragon, the other items in the lot are all very grubby stained faded or in poor condition including four roundels, a panel of purple and grey brocade, a section of kesi waves from a much larger panel, a plain piece of silk cloth which has been moth eaten, there is a larger green silk panel decorated with flowers and a blue and black silk panel.
