A good Chelsea strawberry leaf sauceboat, circa 1752-54, leaf-shaped, the underside moulded with a strawberry plant, the leaves, buds and small fruits rising up the sides, the angular crabstock handle entwined with further fruits and flowers, all picked out in colours, also painted with small flower sprays and an insect, a larger spray and insect inside the base, the rim picked out with a brownish red line, W. 15.5cm
