A fine Regency brass inset rosewood breakfront dwarf bookcase, with brass three quarter gallery, inlaid frieze and acanthus capped fluted stiles, on fluted bun feet, W.5ft D.1ft 7in. H.3ft 2.5in.

Good original condition. Colour is a dark rosewood tone, light surface wear to top with slight rippling of the veneer towards left side where there are also some fine splits running across the first third of the top. Gallery original. gilding slightly worn. Front in good order with all brass intact and not lifting. One tiny nick to front veneer of centre section. Sides in good order. One tiny section of veneer missing from left side of base. Feet look original and show little wear from use. Comes with one adjustable centre shelf and four adjuastable shelves for the sides. Centre section shows a recess for what would be a lock on the left side and 2 peg holes on the right side implying that at some point there may have been a panel that clipped in to place. No sign of hinge marks.
