A Victorian sailor's woolwork picture, depicting a ship of the line escorted by paddle steamers, with ensign fringed ship of the line, 21 x 29in., later burr wood frame

This is an original Victorian woolwork picture rather than a later copy, colours remain good perhaps a little discolouration to some of the whites where they are taking on a slight sepia tone, most of the threadwork looks to remain intact, now housed under glass in a later modern maple frame and inscription on the label verso stating the work was carried out by an ancester and in a frame dating to c.1863.
