A Victorian ruby and diamond bangle, late 19th century, of hinged design, set to the front with a sequence of cushion-shaped rubies, the largest measuring approximately 6.7 x 6.7 x 2.6mm, spaced by pairs of circular-cut diamonds totalling approximately 0.70 carats, mounted in gold, inner circumference approximately 17cm, gross weight approximately 17 grams

Condition:
Rubies are natural, attractive, deep purplish red, in our opinion from typical inclusions present likely to be of Thai origin, unheated, but this is untested and not guaranteed. Stones quite shallow in proportion but good spread, largest in centre calculated to weigh approximately 1.00 carat, but quite inexact due to antique cushion shape. Typical inclusions, some surface-reaching, some minor surface wear and small nicks but nothing severe, nice deep colours, some more saturated, overall good clarity.
