Some differentiation in colour, the cornice and base being much darker than the upper doors which have a golden reddish tone, has been constructed to fit over a projecting skirting board so the top now hangs over at the back, upper doors enclose adjustable shelves, flathead screws running down the central division suggesting this may have been made up from a larger bookcase, the base houses a leather lined slide, two drawers and two doors flanking adjustable shelves, has the look of once being an institutional piece rather than for domestic use.
