A Victorian mahogany 10-drawer collector’s cabinet with arched glazed door, height 68cm, width 54cm, depth 53cm, containing prepared and pinned moth and butterfly specimens, together with seven 1940s volumes of the Proceedings and Transactions of the South London Entmological and Natural History Society. Condition - fair to good. One drawer labelled ‘exhibitor: J.M. Jaques taken in 1946’. Specimens include small and large tortoiseshell, wall brown, cabbage white, common blue, purple emperor, Camberwell beauty, coleophora, scarlet tiger moth, various micro lepidoptera, cucilla, Fenton’s wood white, meadow brown, and various moths

Cabinet one lower side-moulding flapping, needs glue; lock and key removed and retained in lowest drawer; some damp spots to one side. Second and third drawer-contents not labelled with entomological names; other drawer-contents with many label, date of catch often stated, 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
