A Victorian Reformed Gothic walnut and marquetry 'Reclining Chair', designed by Charles Bevan, c.1865, under licence to Marsh, Jones & Cribb of Leeds, velvet upholstered, the X shaped supports inlaid with stylised geometric designs, stamped 'BEVAN'S CHAIR 1865 REGISTERED' to the top joint of the left arm and '4230' to a stretcher

Frame of an overall even mid to dark walnut tone with signs of rubbing and use throughout but no significant damage noted, later green velvet upholstery, reclining action fully operational.
