A Victorian J. Newmans Manufactory of Soho Square mahogany artists's box, with many of the original fittings including tablets of paint and the original key, 13.75 x 11in.

Overall the finish of the box is slightly scratched, numerous very minor dents and wear commensurate with age and usage, there is a very small loss to the crossbanding on the lid, the lid itself is slightly warped, the warp only really visible on the sides, the front sits reasonably flush, the base drawer lacks it back and the bottom of the drawer is coming loose, the interior embossed panel is in good order apart from a couple of small paint splashes, the labelled tray still contains numerous pieces of watercolour paint, the interior looks complete including two cut glass bottles and stoppers - both of which appear to be in good order.
