A Russian white metal overlaid tempera on panel icon, depicting the Virgin Mary and Christ child, 22 x 17.5cm Condition: Looks to date to c.1900 but oklad is not hallmarked or dated, does have a feint inscription across the bottom, silver to the oklad has been pierced and damaged down the left hand margin and is bent out of shape elsewhere, looks to have traces of gilding upon it, paintwork a little scratched with discoloured varnish, velvet backed, no additional frame
