Estimate £500-800

Overall of even mid reddish to dark brown colour, but for the very top of the chest where it is faded a little lighter, has probably been repolished 20 - 30 years ago or so, the overall patina is fair but perhaps a little shallow, cornice is good with a fine boxwood strung line, one or two small dents to the edges of the doors but otherwise good, glass shows small imperfections - may well be original, comes with three adjustable shelves, fall front has two octagonal inlays of ebony and boxwood stringing matching the shape of the handles which look to be original, escutcheon may be later, lock looks original but there is no key, internal fitting of the secretaire in maple with ebony stringing, looks good, contains a later skiver, other drawer fronts equally in good condition with original handles and later brass locks but again no key, escutcheons match the top one and may be later, overall a good looking piece of furniture in good condition.
