Lot 413 , A Regency mahogany linen press, W.4ft D.2ft H.7ft

A Regency mahogany linen press, W.4ft D.2ft H.7ft

A Regency mahogany linen press, with dentil cornice and two doors enclosing five original trays, W.4ft D.2ft H.7ft
Estimate £100-200

Even reddish ginger colour throughout with a fair state of polish. Doors are ill-fitted - the left door has only two of the three hinges attached - so both slope inwards. This can be sorted through refitting the hinges. Otherwise a 5 inch length of moulding missing from the top of the door join. A chip to the left side, at the waist about the size of a thumbnail. Some cock-beading missing - from top left and bottom drawers, each approx a 6 inch length.
Later escutcheon to the door. No key to the door lock (or any other locks).
Drawers and slides are all in good working order. Doors lock is open and we don't have a key. Signs of old woodworm in the cornice.
