A Minton & Co parian group of Leda and the swan, modelled by Albert Carrier-Belleuse, mid 19th century, impressed mark to back, length 56cm height 36cm, minor faults
Estimate £300-500
There are a few firing cracks as typically seen on parian, most of these are minor except to the edge of the base where there is a crack next to the mark Minton & Co with an associated shallow chip, and another firing crack to the opposing side of the plinth which is only slightly visible on the front, but more noticeable from underneath, there is a small chip loss to a few tips of the swans left wing, and the group is generally grubby, the plinth base is not exactly flat and raises up slightly at each end otherwise in good condition.
