A Meissen basketweave moulded tureen and cover, mid 18th century, later painted with birds perched on branches, the domed cover surmounted by the figure of a cherub holding a cornucopia issuing flowers, underglaze blue crossed swords mark with single incised cancellation mark, width 34cm

There are a few minute losses to the encrusted flowers on the cover and there is a small worn chip section to the tip of an asparagus? tip on the handle, there is occasional tiny flakes and scuffs to the enamelled decoration otherwise in good condition.
