A Maori feather box, Wakahuia, with all over carved scrollwork decoration with tiki mask ends, 14.5ins long

The lid does not quite fit flush anymore, small shrinkage split to one side running down from the top through to the tiki mask handles, general signs of wear and discolouration in places, mainly around edge of lid and top border, probably once had circular shell inlaid eyes to the base and the inlaid shell is no longer there, overall generally average reasonable condition.
