A Louis XVI-style ormolu and marble portico quarter repeating timepiece, dial signed Ferdinand Berthoud, in ornate case mounted with figures of classical warriors, with enamelled Roman dial and signed eight day movement striking on two bells, 36cm wide, 14cm deep, 55cm high

Condition:
Overall looks to be in good order, ormolu slightly matted with some light oxidisation spots, marble a little dusty with one or two tiny nicks at the edges, enamel dial in good order, movement lacking a pendulum and with a replacement pull for the repeat. We suggest a largely late 19th century clockcase built around an earlier movement; the dial perhaps re-finished.
