Estimate £700-900
Literature:
This design is illustrated in 'The Book of Garden Ornaments by Liberty & Co. London & Paris' c.1904.
There is weathering to the jardiniere and stand consistent with age and use standing in a garden. The jardiniere itself has a splinter chip on the inside of the rim, some occasional smaller splinter chip losses on the corners and mud residue on the interior, otherwise good, there is a seperate section which again is octagonal which has been cemented onto the base of the jardiniere, this again is moulded with celtic knot motifs, one side has a crack to it running downward, the stand itself is another seperate piece, there is some slight splinter losses around the top and there is some little whorls at the top of the frieze, most of these have got some slight losses or chips to them or some water residue encrustation to them, the rest of the stand again has some minor chips and losses and some remnants of concrete around the very edge of the plinth, otherwise as you would expect of something that has been in a garden since it was made.
