Box measures 8 x 5.75 x 3.5in., looks to have been repolished at some point, one short split in the lid on the left, faded green baize lining and pale green paper label inside the lid.
Black - king named JAQUES LONDON, tiny chips to the Queen's coronet and the ring below it, one bishop with chips to the rings around the neck and a scuff to the base, one knight with red crown stamp to the top, one castle with one castellated section broken away but the piece is still present, scuffed at the top near the red crown stamp, one pawn with tiny nick out of base ring, another with minor scuffing around the base.
Boxwood - king with JACQUES stamp, one knight with an ear missing, the other faded red stamp to the top, one castle with red crown stamp, two pawns with dark stained flaws possibly infilled cracks to the base.
Baize to bases probably later.
