A Japanese shibayama and ivory manju netsuke, 19th century, decorated with a bird amid fruiting branches, three character signature to a mother-of-pearl tablet, 4.2cm
Estimate £300-500

There is a crack to the stone inlay across the birds neck and there is a tiny metal pin inlaid through its eye with some possible tiny area of filler around it, otherwise the small sections of stone are made in sections which seem consistent with the way that it is made and the mother of pearl petalled disc around the himatoshi underneath is loose but held in place by the cord, otherwise in good condition.
