A Japanese ivory netsuke of a shishimai dancer, Meiji period, signed Nagatame, with one foot on a drum, articulated dragon jaw revealing the face of the dancer, h. 5.1cm

Has a metal pin running through the hinge for the dragons mouth which protrudes a little on the right hand side, otherwise the netsuke is in good condition with no restoration or chips, there is a feint crack which may be in the ageing of the ivory in the scaling on the back of the carving which has been hidden by the carver.
