A Japanese gilt bronze 'Samurai' vase, early 20th century, later mounted as a lamp, cast and chased in high relief with a samurai on horseback traversing a river, the reverse with a cat amid foliage, the neck with a dragon holding a glass ‘jewel’, the base with birds above waves, cast maker’s seal mark to base, 36cm high excluding later light fitting, repairs to base

Condition:
The vase has been drilled through the base right through the middle of the maker’s seal mark. There are some solder repairs and a replacement section to the edge of the foot. Evidence of white polish residue in the casting.
