A Japanese Tanto 19th/20th century, with 19th century bronze kozuka and menuki to the 20th century saya, the blade with six character inscribed mark to the tang, Blade L.30.5cm

Scabbard has some chips to the lacquer along the bottom scene near the end and there is a series of small dents and chips to the lacquered finish, in general there is wear around where the kozuka slots into the scabbard, the kozuka itself is tarnished and blade a little worn with series of old worn nicks out of the blade, the tanto hilt has been poorly rebound probably with a nylon cloth and the rayskin grip appears to have been reglued, the menuki are present and they are quite work, the blade has some light surface rust in places and surface scratching and there are a series of very minor nicks to one larger nick which is probably about a couple of millimetres long on the edge, overall fair condition.
