A Japanese Takamaki-e lacquer rectangular box, 19th century, decorated with a fan and foliage with some mother of pearl inlay, the lower diaper pattern band, containing coloured bone gaming counters, 20.5cm

Slight splits to each corner of the cover, wear to gilding and fine cracks and 'bubbling' to the mother-of-pearl inlay, slight flake losses to each bottom corner of the base, bone counters a little worn. No restoration
