A Japanese Satsuma pottery dish, for Taizan Company, Meiji period, signed ? zan sei, finely painted with a silk trading ship with figures throwing balls of silk around in a river landscape, within gilt flowerhead border, four character gilt seal mark and impressed Taizan mark, 30.5cm.

Good even crackle to the glaze all over, there is some wear to the gilding around the very edge of the rim, there is some minor occasional light areas of staining to the glaze on the underside of the dish, otherwise in good condition.
