A Japanese Meiji period lacquer box, decorated with lotus leaves and flowers, with the petals inset with mother of pearl, silver rim and signed to the underside of the lid, 14 x 11cm, height 7cm
Condition: some dis-colouration to the dark brown lacquer of the lid showing as some patchiness, also probably some wear with a slightly lighter reddish colour showing through from the underside, light scuffing on the inside of the box, rim of the base has some small chips running around it, outer base of the box again with some patchy discolouration of the brown lacquer, a gold speckle effect to the underside.
